Shure has a deal going for 25% off like all their iems so the 535s are pretty comparable but I have the UE 900s on the way and if they’re not good for Netflix/ christian worship music on Spotify 320kps I might look at these if they’re more suited for my use or the 535s

RareAirsThe 900s should be enough for your uses. The 535 is... alright, but I feel it's just far too old and mostly outclassed by newer products recently. For a midcentric sound I'd probably pick a B-stock Orion. It's got a much tighter bass, better treble extension and same sweet mids like the 535.

malvinvnvI'd have to disagree on that. The 535 is still very solid and sounds excellent in the mids and highs. They do lack impact in the lower region but they're not exactly bass light either. That, and you can easily snag a new set for $300 nowadays. There are also plenty of mods out there to change out the knowledge filter in them to tweak the sound to exactly what you want as well for little money. Other sets may do one particular thing better than them but the 535 is a solid all rounder that doesn't need a ton of energy/amps/dac to sound good and pairs nicely whether thru a phone or PC.

jaydunndidditWell, it's good that you like it. But I have to disagree on everything you say except for the bass. It barely has any extension of treble. Doesn't sound proper to me. Plus, $300 for a new set is too much for that kind of sound.
Mods doesn't help. It brings out a little bit of treble but it in no way helps with the sound. Maybe it is a tad airier, but it still sounds very muffled.
So, no. I don't think they're an allrounder.
malvinvnvYeah, the 535 is not ruler flat and has some treble rolloff. That isn't a bad thing and leads to it not being fatiguing and not sibilant. If you wanted that, you could opt for the 535 LTD which is revised to have more treble sparkle. Or, change the filter to an applicable type to suit what you want. There's over a dozen filters that can lower or raise the frequency to your taste. It's all been well documented. So again, for the dollar and ability, the 535 is hard to beat even more so considering how well is does in the mid range as well with imaging and separation. Is it as bright or wide as the ie800 or 846? Nope, but it does well for what it is as well as being built solidly, customizable, and able to be work comfortably for 8-10 hr sessions. Even more so, they sound solid out of any device and don't require an amp to sound good. They respond well to EQ and really their only shortcoming is they're bass light. Comparing to other BA triple drivers, they're hard to beat and work well in many genres. They're a jack of all trades for better or for worse.
