I've ordered one of these on E-Bay from Penonaudio for $38,50: MMCX-APT-X-CSR8645-Single-Crystal-Copper-Silver-Plated-Bluetooth-Earphone-Cable. It uses a CSR8645 chip, and supports lossless APTX. It's now coming on a slow boat from China. Hoping to recieve it and the Primo8's before Christmas.

HiFiRich1409Why would a pair of wired IEMs use a bluetooth chip?

j-techYou can replace the cable with an MMCX terminated Bluetooth adapter. I wouldn't use a different one (from aliexpress) I have because it worsens the clarity and treble roll off too much compared to a normal cable though these problems aren't as bad with the IEM I purchased it for (which seems to be less sensitive to sources). The Primo 8 is very sensitive to source impedance as I found with wired sources, so I am guessing my Bluetooth adapter has a high output impedance.

npc2Oh, I just reread the original comment after reading your reply and I see now he was referring to the adapter as having the chip and not the IEM of course.
