Is there a trick to getting the comply tips on? The inner sleeve on the complys seem to be too small to fit onto the earphone.
I recieved mine on 10/1 and gave them about an hour of listening before setting them on the ipod for 24/7 burn-in for the better part of a week. I did listen to them for about 30 minutes each day they were burning....and have been listening to them daily for a few hours at a time, side by side with the 2 other IEMs I own, Super.fi 5 pros and UE900s.
My initial impression before burn-in was that they seemed really congested, esp in the mids/upper mids. The sound felt very compact and flat. As the days went by though, the sound did open up quite a bit. After about the 3rd day, there wasn't much more change so I think about 50 hours of burn-in was good for me. The sound overall I think is nice. They are quite midrange forward so vocals sound good, piano and other acoustic instruments also sounds nice. I do think they're a bit thin in the bass department. Not to the point that it's a deal breaker but they don't seem as full in the bottom end compared to the 2 UEs I have. Highs are fairly smooth and non-fatiquing which is nice for long listening sessions. Soundstage I would say is O.K.
The shells are pretty light so they're comfortable to wear for long periods, I'll probably be using these for traveling because of the comfort and because I can lay my head flat on a pillow since the earpieces don't protrude. The UE900s don't protrude either but it would be nice to use something different for a change.
Of the accessories, I like the leather pouch that's included. It fits into my pocket nicely vs the bulky (but beautiful) hard carrying case of the UE900s. The included silicon tips are a bit strange in the sense that the size jump between the mediums and the larges is huge. Unfortunately the size that would work best for me falls between medium and large so it takes some finagling to get a good seal using the large tips. I have yet to try tip mod like someone posted in another comment but probably will this upcoming weekend.
Luckily I haven't experienced the cutting off of sound like some others have, fingers crossed that I won't.
Definitely think these are worth the MD price of $199 + shipping. Wish they had arrived quicker (6 weeks to Hawaii!) but I guess they were worth the wait.

CuttoothInitially I thought the comply tips were too small to fit as well, and it actually required enough force that it made me uncomfortable because I was afraid to break the plastic. However, they did go on with enough effort, and for me personally, materially improved the sound and comfort (I usually don't get good fit with silicone though).

CuttoothAhhhh, cool. Thanks for the reply on the fit of the complys. I tried to get them on there but was scared to apply too much force. I'll give another go.
