I've been using these for over 4 years straight now and they're finally starting to give up. The leather sole has gotten a nickle sized wear hole in each boot and the plastic heel on one fell off and wore through the rear end of the other. Nothing getting resoled can't fix.
I'm very impressed they're lasted this long, I've hiked them up and down wet, dry, soft, rocky, ect ect hills. They actually saw me though the end quarter of my scouting career. They've only grown more comfortable since then.
The total price of upkeep has been 1 roll of synthetic leather string to replace the laces that die every 3 months(the laces that come with the boots died in a month) 1 can of obenauf's LP 8oz, 1 bottle of obenauf's leather oil, and 1 can of saddle soap. Which was about $50-40 and they costed me about $350, so $100 a year. If you decided to get rubber soles I have no doubt they would've lasted till year 8 before needing repairs.

Still great boots, a year on.
Review a year or so on: Still great boots! I don't wear them quite as often as my black Vibergs but just because of color, they're holding up just as well, feel as good or better (fit is a little better, I ordered my vibergs the wrong size, should have gone with "true to fit"). Still highly recommend them. Original review: Great boots. I've now had them... a while. They're in regular rotation with my Vibergs and other quality boots and fit right in. Very well made, zero complaints, the leather laces haven't even broken yet (which I expected!). I'll definitely put OSB on my list and you should too!

I love these boots, and I'm a bit of a boot nut. The leather is incredibly high quality, and the color was fantastic. I replaced the garbage leather laces within a day for some proper boot laces, and if you have the Dainite rubber soles, be aware that they can be slippery on oily surfaces. Other than that, they're outstanding for casual wear, snow wear, light duty hiking and just about everything else you can think of.
