Well... mine came. Too bad i didn't get what i ordered. Was supposed to get the shallow water polarized which were supposed to have BLACK frames. Mine are most definitely not black, but are a horrible mottled brown colour. EWWW!! The box says they are "rootbeer".
Guess we'll have to see what massdrop has to say about returning them.
Mine came with two sets of arms, matte brown and shiny brown. Only one frame, in brown. Not an issue at the end of the day. Massdrop took care of me, and, has made me a happy customer.
Argh. When I got mine out today, I noticed the pin that holds the right temple socket was missing, and the entire socket/temple arm came off! I'm surprised it fell out. Has anyone here had this issue with theirs?
OMG. Sorry to hear that but somewhat relieved I wasn't the only one. I'm still flabbergasted at how it could have happened.
I thought I was worse off having zero warranty support but sucks to hear what they offered you. I can't see why it would be so hard for them to make replacement screws available. I've stopped buying Oakley shades because of this.
Nope, I haven't found anything that fits. Had hoped to find some aftermarket screws on eBay, but no luck yet. Latest brain fart was to try to find cheap knock-offs and see if the screws from those fit!!
serifOne solution i found out possibly, get a 1/32 drill bit n use the round end n it might fit in there, make the mark for depth then cut it off n use that n put a lil super glue on top?
Hasn't anyone here since all those exposes and documentaries exposing how all these prices and marketing tactics employed by the sunglasses industry a giant sham? I believe Oakley's lens and frames are made by that same Italian mega-manufacturer that basically monopolizes the markets and skews pricing. Screw Oakley and screw paying this much on a piece of scratchable plastic.
m0arpheusDon't confuse high fashion designer sunglasses with oakleys. The same parent company does not mean identical manufacturing processes. You won't be paying all that much less than this for impact rated shatterproof lenses with a good fit and lens quality, if you can't take care of a pair of sunglasses definitely stick with the disposable $20 pairs. I use those when the odds they'll get wrecked or lost are high but wearing them all day is noticeably less comfortable, and if you wear the cheapo ones much and manage to not lose them you'll find that they fall apart quick enough that they're actually not that cost effective. I would agree that the sticker/retail price is exorbitant but this is less than half that. Store display models on eBay are also not a bad deal.
Just received mine and the guide mentions shields you can mount on the sides where the hinges are but they weren't in the box. Were they not supposed to be included?
Oh.LeeverYep there was definitely a guide, which isn't too farfetched, as each company has their own slightly different method for swapping out the arms/nosepads/lenses.
