Hasn't anyone here since all those exposes and documentaries exposing how all these prices and marketing tactics employed by the sunglasses industry a giant sham? I believe Oakley's lens and frames are made by that same Italian mega-manufacturer that basically monopolizes the markets and skews pricing. Screw Oakley and screw paying this much on a piece of scratchable plastic.

m0arpheusyeah I saw a documentary about this actually. Luxottica pretty much bought out all the big sunglass companies like sunglass hut, lens crafters, etc. and forced all the other companies to sell out otherwise they wouldn't sell their sunglasses at places like sunglass hut. Business was tanking for all the sunglasses companies like Oakley so they sold out one by one. Pretty ridiculous how expensive all sunglasses are cause of them.

m0arpheusDon't confuse high fashion designer sunglasses with oakleys. The same parent company does not mean identical manufacturing processes. You won't be paying all that much less than this for impact rated shatterproof lenses with a good fit and lens quality, if you can't take care of a pair of sunglasses definitely stick with the disposable $20 pairs. I use those when the odds they'll get wrecked or lost are high but wearing them all day is noticeably less comfortable, and if you wear the cheapo ones much and manage to not lose them you'll find that they fall apart quick enough that they're actually not that cost effective. I would agree that the sticker/retail price is exorbitant but this is less than half that. Store display models on eBay are also not a bad deal.
