From the manufacturer site: "We customized a diamond die for cabling that insures the smoothness of the surface of the raw cable which eliminates the loss of the high frequency signals." This is some alien tech. You won't read about this shit in a physics textbook from earth.

sergeyuWhile I am skeptical about the actual tonal benefit of it, diamond die is very commonly used for wire drawing , and surface roughness does affect skin effect of conductor. What do you mean by they are alien tech?

benchan2a01This is a headphone cable. It's intended for _audio_, so high frequency in this context means 20kHz or less. Skin effect simply doesn't have any effect in this application. For reference skin depth at 20kHz in copper is about 0.5mm, so unless you have a cable that's thinker than 1mm (i.e. about 25 AWG) for each conductor skin effect doesn't matter. No sane person will use 25 AWG headphone cable for headphones. Even if someone does, skin effect may have audiable effects only if you have very long cable (hundreds of feet), which is never the case for headphone cable. And even with very long and thick cable surface smoothness doesn't matter at 20kHz because skin depth is 0.5 mm. My point here is that their claims are not based on sciense. You are always better off spending $50 on good headphones than wasting it on this cable.

sergeyuIndeed most audio stuffs nowadays just have to have some gimmicks to mark up the price. To be fair tho I was the one that mentioned skin effect as it was the one thing that I could think of, that's why I was curious about the "alien tech" you said.

sergeyuWhat are the purposes of silver-plated cables if there is no skin effect?

kosabahatokoSilver-plated cables exist to extract money from gullable audiophools.
