Since 1929, Tokyo-based company OHTO has been making inexpensive, high-quality pens that are a pleasure to write with. On this drop, you’ll find a variety of entry-level fountain pens that range from modern to pocket-size Read More
I had a lot of issues with mine right out of the package. The ink flow was so poor on my Giza and Jazz that they were unwritable. I had to spend hours adjusting them and the flow is still very inconsistent. I have bought low quality/cheap pens before, but nothing like this. My Tache writes fine with minor adjustments though.
Took receipt of my pens late last week.
They don't feel as nice and solid as my Pilot Metropolitans, but I do like the variety in shape and color.
There was a bit of squeaking with the Giza and the Jazz, but I added some silicone grease to quell that. There isn't as much play with the Dude. The Giza probably feels the cheapest as there is rattle with the pen cap and the rest of the body and it spins quite a bit when it is capped. There isn't as much movement when it is posted. The cartridges are shorter and fatter than my Lamy cartridges. Not sure if they hold more or less ink.

I really find the quality level for the price to be nicely surprising! A nice sturdy and solid pen that writes well. I even managed to fit one of my spare converters into the body, although it's a little cramped, and may detach the converter sometimes when opening the barrel. I absolutely love the deep violet colored Dude pen that I bought in the previous drop, so I just ordered the 3 pack to try out a couple of other OHTO models.
