I had the pink one, maybe two years. It started leaking, and I mean the entire tank. It was never dropped as far as I know. I also think this iron teaches a bad habit when ironing in a class etc. You get use to the iron being okay leaving it down, for me that caused a couple of scorched marks. I guess you can tell, I would not buy this type again.
belairchevyUpdate. I contacted Oliso. Got a response right back. He told me to make sure that it was turned off the steam setting when filling the iron, also to make sure it was turned off. So far it is working great. Seems odd though that after having it all this time I never paid any attention to what setting it was on when I was filling it with water. Fingers crossed that this is the trick. So bottom line here is that if you are having trouble with your iron, contact Oliso they may be able to solve your problem..
There are 3 levels of the Oliso iron. Yellow is top rated for quilters due to the extra long cord not getting tangled in large pieces of fabric as you iron. I paid $169.99 for mine 3 years ago. I wish I had bought I sooner.
i bought mine through Nancy’s Notions, and had to pay shipping. Believe me, I shopped everywhere for a better price. Just being able to reduce stress on my bicep made it worth the price.
I bought an Oliso iron because I’ve broken both shoulders and constantly lifting an iron puts the muscles in spasms, which are both exhausting and painful. It’s a great iron. Now I can usually press a couple of items before I have to massage by muscles in my arm. I hope someday to be able to use my arms more efficiently, but for the interim, the Oliso iron is enabling me to do one more thing for myself! I also use it to press quilt squares, fabric and appliqué. It always does a great job.
BizeemumEver where I looked no one had the pink one in stock and it was more expensive. The cord is plenty long. I can't imagine why anyone would want it longer.
Philipmb123The price with the coupon is actually the best price on the market. The manufacturer has this set at a minimum advertised price so retailers are not allowed to sell below that price.
KailiMI didn’t say it was advertised at a lower price. I said I bought it 20 percent cheaper. ..... with 20 percent off coupon at checkout. Nevertheless this really isn’t a ‘deal’

Better prices elsewhere, plus mine burned out a month out of warranty.
Hi, with the coupon at checkout this is actually the best price on the market!

I bought this iron several years ago and loved it - until it burned out about a month outside of warranty. Called the company and they wanted $80 just to look at it. I decided I can get several irons for the "just look at it cost" and ended up giving it to Good Will (for them to try to fix). I found a couple of refurbished older irons for about $20 each that don't shut off and get super hot and I love them. Since then I got a brand new iron at an estate sale for about $10 still in the box. I would love to have the Oliso again, but don't want to take the chance as I've heard of too many other complaints like mine. (Oh, and I NEVER put water in my irons!)
Just seeing your questions (at least I don't recall answering this before!). The refurbished iron I got is a T-Fal Ultraglide Diffusion (no longer made). I love it because it does not shut off and gets really hot. I don't put water in any of my irons because it will eventually cause the iron to leak/spit/sputter. To prevent that, you're supposed to empty the water out after every use, and probably do some type of treatments occasionally that I just don't have time for, so I just spray water on the fabric from a good spray bottle.
