anyone used this one and the panasonic 14-140 3.5? I've seen some reviews saying that one is much sharper.

DocZZZThere are some threads on that topic at DPReview. Here's one: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4090573.
When reading any comparisons, make sure that they're talking about the Oly 14-150 Mark II, which I've heard has better IQ than the Mark I.
I have the Olympus 14-150 Mark II and I've been happy with it, but the choice is likely to come down to which camera body one plans to use. The Pansonic lens has image stabilization, but lacks weather-sealing. The Oly is weather-sealed, but lacks stabilization. I opted for the Oly lens because I was using a camera (E-M5 Mark I) that had image stabilization and weather-sealing (and got a good price on it). If someone has a Panasonic body with no IS and no weather sealing, then the Panasonic lens would probably be a better choice. If your camera body has built-in IS but no weather-sealing (e.g. Oly E-PL7), then, yes, it's more about image quality (which seems to be about equal from what I've read), and perhaps focus speed/accuracy, shutter shock, etc.

DocZZZI don't have either this or the Panny. The panny is just slightly faster at the wide end, however you miss out on a little bit of reach.
