Couple days in and still haven’t sold 1 watch. Someone tell the people at Massdrop that our grandmothers dont know how to use a computer let alone know about their website. This grandma watch is a pass, bring us the Omega Aqua Terra and I’m in.

I suppose from MDs point of view, convincing the big guys (name brands) to partner with them is probably a bit of a minefield; Rolex doesn't need or want them anymore than Nikon and Canon do. That leave them between a rock and carbon fiber comb when it comes to sourcing the merchandise needed to feed the beast they've created. They're in a good place Audio-wise because it hasn't caught on with the mass-market retailers so far. Not the case at all for more established, high-end stuff (although they've apparently found a few wayward resellers willing to bend some rules in order to get out from under slower moving items--albeit without traditional mfg warranties). Maybe that's the story here?

RayFYep. Rolex and the other big fish exert huge leverage over their licensed dealers. Rolex is like "Paulie" from Goodfellas -"[Henry Hill] : Paulie might've moved slow, but it was only because Paulie didn't have to move for anybody."
