I'm an Omega fan and I say this IS a nice looking watch, and anybody who says different can meet out front in five minutes!

RayFIt is a nice watch. It would look nice on an old lady.

RayFCertainly leans more formal with the two tone vibe. I guess some here were expecting a Speedmaster at a deep discount.
Not sure why everyone wants to pile on Massdrop because they don't like this watch. I don't go to jomashop and leave negative feedback on watches I don't like.

ZeroAPRMe neither! But I think making light of this or that "what-ever" MD is trying to sell us on a given day is fair game (not that I do that), but there is a divide between who they are, and what they're pushing--which is to say, just because they're pitching an ugly watch, doesn't make them ugly people, so it's best to be clear about what we're saying when we say what we say ;- )

RayFAgreed. Doing due diligence with MD's offerings is fair game. And snarky comments are amusingly helpful when pointing out quality / value issues. I get surprised here when huge expectations of MD are baked into these comments. To me it's obvious they're thin in the luxury watch game. Is it a reasonable expectation to buy a Rolex Submariner, cherry mech keyboard and an Arduino kit from one place? Or are we all just expressing the same thing in different ways?I hope this isn't a case of the humor being lost on me...

ZeroAPRI suppose from MDs point of view, convincing the big guys (name brands) to partner with them is probably a bit of a minefield; Rolex doesn't need or want them anymore than Nikon and Canon do. That leave them between a rock and carbon fiber comb when it comes to sourcing the merchandise needed to feed the beast they've created. They're in a good place Audio-wise because it hasn't caught on with the mass-market retailers so far. Not the case at all for more established, high-end stuff (although they've apparently found a few wayward resellers willing to bend some rules in order to get out from under slower moving items--albeit without traditional mfg warranties). Maybe that's the story here?

RayFYep. Rolex and the other big fish exert huge leverage over their licensed dealers. Rolex is like "Paulie" from Goodfellas -"[Henry Hill] : Paulie might've moved slow, but it was only because Paulie didn't have to move for anybody."
