I'm in on this, but for what it's worth, I would have preferred splash/acid anno options compared to nickle plating.

aqua_scummmThere are no splash or acid options for MC's, only solids. There's one color that could be considered acid, but it's not that great IMO. I'm sure One Drop will make some nice splashes for it eventually though, it just interferes with the blast finish they all have.

SomunchyHm, I didn't realize it was OD limiting the options. Annodizing shouldn't affect finish at all though. Bead blasting + anno should feel nearly identical to bead blasting + plating.

SomunchyI don't know that they will because the colors were all hand picked by Mark and are his favorite colors. I hope we eventually see some splashes too though.

aqua_scummmthat's not necessarily something Mark had envisioned for this yoyo. It stands out as a minimal style among overly colorful and complex color ways - just like Mark's brand.
I hope they don't release a splash for this, as I think it would dilute the MarkMont brand.

drake.evansHah, you just missed the "New Wave Band" which was a green wash with pink splash, here on Mass Drop. Mark is cool, I love his style, and respect his decisions (and he's right, he mentions in a youtube video that the nickel plating adds a certain weight and feel distinctly different, and better, than ano).
That being said, OneDrop is a company that has to cater to its customers. Mark got his throw designed and made, with the greatest respect, he can cope with a couple colorway releases he didn't pick. He did a great job designing this throw, and if making wild colorways gets it into more players hands (the ones who greatly prefer loud splashes), then I'm all for it.
