Available exclusively on Massdrop, this notebook cover is designed, cut, and hand-stitched by One Star Leather Goods proprietor Keegan Uhl in his Los Angeles apartment—not a sewing machine or assembly line in sight. Sourced from Hermann Oak in St. Louis, Missouri, a tannery that’s been around since 1881, the natural vegetable-tanned bridle leather is built to take a beating and age beautifully. Pair it with the included Rhodia Pocket Webnotebook, and bring it along on a lifetime of adventures.
Note: This cover is designed specifically for the Pocket Webbie. At checkout, you’ll have your choice of leather colors between Black (15 units available), Brown, and Tan. For your Rhodia Webnotebook, choose the Black, or Orange cover and the Blank, Dot, or Lined paper. Please note that due to the nature of made-to-order goods, your items will ship separately.
Thin, sleek, and buttery-smooth, the cover is stitched along the top and bottom edges with Maine-sourced thread. Stitching is notably absent from the spine, ensuring the thread won’t wear over time. The full-size front and back flaps provide a solid writing surface and make it easy to flip through your notebook when you’re looking for a particular page. Inside, you’ll find a single pull-through slot for your Webbie’s elastic band. To maintain your cover’s appearance and prevent cracking and deterioration, Keegan recommends using the One Star Leather Balm or a similar product.
Hardbound with a leatherette cover, each Webbie is outfitted with an inner pocket for loose notes, an elastic closure to keep your pages safe and clean, and a ribbon marker so you'll never lose your place. The primary distinction in Rhodia Webnotebooks is the acid-free, pH-neutral paper. While some brands allow bleed-through, every Rhodia comes stocked with heavyweight Clairefontaine paper: a glossy, smooth surface that lends itself well to fountain pens. You’ll have to let the ink dry a little longer than with regular paper, but the feathering-resistant performance is worth the extra time.
