I've had mine for over 8 months now, and I bought it 2nd hand. Like new, but 2nd hand nevertheless. I've never had a problem with it, or to be more accurate, what glitches I encountered would disappear with a reboot. I've never had an issue with battery life; it may not be good, but it charges really fast. So I've never found myself wishing it had longer battery life.
Its properly fast, with truly usable amounts of RAM, at a justifiable price; the 1st smartphone that I've owned (G2x, S3 and Nexus 4 before) that makes me feel that smartphones are dependable essential equipment and more than just expensive gottahavit toys.
I think 1+ gave it the features and specs that mattered and left out the ones that don't to keep the price down. I think they got it right. But that's just me. If I was inclined to photo-document my daily life online, talked for more than an hour-a-day on the phone, and was a fan of water-sports for gadgets, this would not be the phone for me.
