Just a note for people considering this, according to Onkyo's site, this is coming soon, so this is a new design. Their list on their site $899 MSRP, though introductory price appears to be $799.
I won't be participating in this drop, even though I've been begging for a 9.2 AVR, mostly because I am a gear snob and am holding out for any of Pioneer (also owned by Onkyo, but designed with enough differences to be worthwhile), Marantz or Denon (both owned by same company) or a Yamaha Aventage AVR. My system also has power hungry speakers so the power on this AVR won't do the trick to my satisfaction either.
But really good that MassDrop is getting an advance sale on this new to market AVR.
The features that follow make this a good product for those with newer speakers and other equipment that may be more compatible:
90 W/Ch (8 Ohms), 215 W/Ch (6 Ohms)
Native DTS:X™ and Dolby Atmos® to 5.2.4 Channels
Powered Zone 2 and Zone 3 speaker outputs
Chromecast built-in, AirPlay, Wi-Fi®, and Bluetooth®
AccuEQ Advance calibration with AccuReflex Technology
FlareConnect™ Multi-room Wireless Audio Distribution
