As pretty as these are, the numbers are just printed on the sides. They do not appear to be recessed like most nice, a technique that preserves the number and keeps the paint from wearing off. :(
I would love to be wrong about that, of course, but that's what it looks like.

MordentThe numbers are indeed printed, but they have received very good reviews for durability. For any stone dice, we recommend rolling them individually on padded surfaces. Overall, they are durable for practical use.

MetallicDiceGamesI appreciate the advice on padded rolling surfaces but my chief concern is the numbers rubbing off due to finger oils. This is a serious concern for someone like me who can't use a keyboard with painted letters for more than six months before the letters start to erode. :(
