A stripped-down digital audio player from South Korean company The Bit Co., Ltd., the Opus #1 is designed to bring out every detail in your music, and pairs well with sensitive IEMs and full-size cans alike. Its dual CS4398 DAC chips deliver clean, neutral sound, while the 4-inch, high-resolution touchscreen and Android-based interface make it extremely easy to navigate. In addition to its 32-gigabyte internal memory, the Opus #1 supports two MicroSD cards for 400 additional gigabytes of external storage. For long listening sessions and daily commutes, the battery provides 10 hours of playing time between charges.
Note: Choose the Opus #1 (base price) or the Opus #1 Metal Premium (+ $140). The upgraded Metal Premium has a front CNC metal body and a new op amp for superior sound quality, and also comes with a free case.
Solidly built through and through, the Opus #1 features a matte-black finish and a glass back panel for a premium feel. On one side, you’ll find the volume control, and on the other, three buttons that let you fast-forward, pause, and rewind. The bottom panel houses a standard MicroUSB connector for charging your device and transferring data, while the top panel is home to a 3.5-millimeter headphone out that doubles as an optical out, a 2.5-millimeter balanced out, and the on/off button.
