Available in a number of colors, the Opus 88 Picnic is a great choice for anyone seeking an eyedropper-filled fountain pen. It features a transparent resin body, so you can see the ink level and the nib when the pen is capped. But what really sets the Picnic apart is its piston-operated shutoff valve. The ebonite piston and rubber gasket seal the feed off from the barrel when fully depressed to prevent leaking and burping. Unscrew the blind cap and loosen the rod at the rear of the barrel to open up the ink flow to the feed. During long writing sessions, you can leave the shutoff valve open to take advantage of the pen’s large ink capacity.
