Just got my new Orbitkey. I must say, I do dislike the fact that is the 1.0 version, yet it is in fact better than my current leather key organizer made by a certain leather company that although well intentioned, was poorly designed. This will remain a bitter sweet purchase.

My conspiracy theory sense is tingling and telling me that Massdrop is in collaboration with Orbitkey to offload some old inventory and pass it off as a discount. It reminds me of an ancient story when 4x CDW drives was the hot topic on every platform until 8x came out a few months later. Suddenly every manufacturer with 10s of thousands of units in stock was left holding the hot potato wondering how they were going to cover their losses.

I joined this drop not realizing it is the 1.0 version based on the available pictures. It has been a long time since I regretted a purchase so quickly. Lesson learned!

Version 2 is here, however they are basically forcing you to get the multi-tool, which is the only thing making this a "deal". Otherwise, the key organizer alone can be had for the same price elsewhere on the internet.

Bought these on a previous drop and I must say they're not very practical. The biggest problems are:
- There just isn't enough space for longer keys. If you use Masterlock or similarly long keys, they will not come close to fitting. Exacerbating this problem is that, as you add more keys, the maximum length of keys that the Orbitkey can hold will decrease.
- It really only works well if all or almost all of your keys are flat. If your keys are sloped near the attachment point it will take up a lot of space and will make sliding the key out of the sheath more annoying.
If your keys are short and flat then I'd recommend getting one of these as it looks great on your key ring. If you have longer keys or many sloped keys then I'd recommend against getting one since a key organizer is pointless if you have to have a bunch of keys hanging outside of it.

Had a key which had a really large attachment point making it hard to fit, after sawing it down and drilling a new hole it worked great! Also always cut away any plastic parts around the attachment point to make it smaller.

Based on the pictures and the metal key hanger where the leather bends, it looks like the 1st Gen. Bummer too because I backed both and the 2nd generation really improved on the 1st.

Same here, price of this thing doubled for me here in the Netherlands. I should've known, but I didn't. It's a nice little gadget, but if I'd known it would eventually cost me over 50 euro's in total, I definitely wouldn't have bought it from Massdrop. It's sold for 40 euro's here in the Netherlands.
