Product Description
Wearing a dapper combination of silver and black, the aptly named Orient Agent Automatic wouldn’t look out of place on the wrist of an international spy. The main point of interest has to be its pin-striped dial with a combination of silver Roman numerals and indexes Read More

Krebs, I'm in NZ too, really wanted this watch but would've had to use YouShop.

DoYouEvenBaconYep, that's the service I am using. Will probably cost me $25 so I hope the Watch is worth it.

Would it be too sacrilegious if I were to put a different strap on this?
Not a huge fan of metal straps.

wiemerimerI think it's more a metal bracelet rather than strap, but by all means, no sacrilege at all, making yourself happy is what counts as the watch owner. It's such a handsome watch it would look good on anything. Enjoy.

Any reasons why international shipping is not available for this? The other Orient drop that ended yesterday had international shipping.

why does it say "water resist" on the dial? seems like an odd thing to put there... might as well say "tells time"

FarragoPlenty of watches say "water resist"... and some watches ARE NOT water resistant. I think it looks great even with the "water resist". I had a previous Orient watch from massdrop and it too says "water resist", but looks great even with the writing.

FarragoObviously that's an abbreviation of Water Resistant, which would be too long and change the very nice esthetic these Orient Watches all have. It let's the looker know that this is indeed a "waterproof" watch, and looking on the back will give the exact degree, which again, would look too busy if it was included on the face. These are very well thought out and created watches, certainly not a case of "failed translation". ymmv. (-;

The description says the watch will tick for 40 hours. Does this mean if it isn't worn or wound up in two days it will stop?

How do you get it back to the full 40-hour power reserve? Wear it and let it charge again?

buzzking00That's right. There is a rotating weight in the watch that winds the watch as you move. So with regular wear you probably won't have to worry about it dying, it will keep itself wound as you go about your day.

Is this not hand windable like the other Orient automatics?

FarragoNot all Orient automatics are hand windable. Check out page 7 of the owner manual (this is the ER 487 movement):
http://www.orient-watch.com/img/manuals/K5e.pdf
Interesting that those without hand winding are rated as more accurate than with hand winding.

I have a US address to ship to so I am OK, but at a cost. Easier to do direct international.
