I didn't buy my Bambino from drop so I can't review it here but I'm wearing mine today and I love it! I don't know if the price on Drop is worth it for the delayed shipping and (for me) import tax but for anyone on the fence about buying one, just do it! I have now owned 2 of them and would easily buy another one without hesitation if I thought my collection could use another one... The first one was a gen 2 ver 3 with the blue sunburst dial. The dial was stunning! I ended up selling it off though because I just didn't like the squared off hands and the indices were too thin. It was purely an aesthetic thing for me. Many people love that look. It just wasn't for me. As soon as I sold it, I knew my collection was missing something and I ended up buying a gen 2 ver 1 with the black dial. The dauphine hands and tapered indices... I love it! I bought a cheap butterfly clasp on Amazon and I've been very happy! This watch will be with me for a long time to come now. The only thing I wish was different is the lug width... This is my only 21mm watch and I can't justify buying a bunch of straps dedicated to only one watch. The leather it came with isn't too bad but it's also not great. I might give in yet and buy another strap, but it's still only a small complaint.
These are available at Orient's own US website this week at the same sale price, plus Orient also has the Bambino v2 (geometric markers on dial) featured in the Drop intro photo and review video (but not the version being offered by Drop this round).
I wonder when is Drop going to stop sending misleading email promositons?
I receive an email with a stunning title "The Great Bambino" featuring beautiful photos of a mesmerizing white sunburst dial with steel case, golden watch hands and roman numerals which I immediately get drawn into, I click and get myself on the drop of a completely different version of the watch. The other time (can't remem what watch it was) I received the email clicked on the featured watch and the sale for the promoted model was closed?! WTF Drop Marketing, get your act together please.
Not a watch for me, but having just read through the comments, not a watch for those who aren’t connected to the internet, or are too damned lazy to use it, either!!!
Jesus, Marry, and Joseph! What a bunch of hopeless, helpless, hapless, wannabe horologists ;- )
Hey guys, fix the descriptions, please. You have 3 model numbers listed for purchase but the details section mentions 4 types with no reference to the model numbers.
Does anyone else know about this being canceled? Checked UPS tracking 02/11/2020. It said it has been canceled. WTF is going on. NO courteous email commenting on this?? NEVER AGAIN.
What's up now. This site looks like a rudderless ship. No one knows anything. Oh we are working on it. This watch is not some rare limited edition. So why the delay? What do you say to the customers that have paid $1000's for a product. Well we are working on it. Is ANYONE accountable in this business?
