watched youtube videos of each model. looks like the rainbow model is the only one where the hour hand actually changes color (to a different color) every hour. The other models do change, but the amount of change is much more subtle. The green and black model appears to just change between green and white with different parts of the hour hand showing either green or white. The red/white/blue model has weird cross line patterns that appear every other hour. Seems like the rainbow model maximizes the effect of the disk hour hand.
