Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. For example, the $200-and-lower price range of the IE80, you can get:
- These - iBasso IT03 - Mee Pinnacle P1 - Oriveti Primacy - AAW A3H Pro [v2] - ATH-IM02 - Oriveti Basic - TFZ Series 5 - GR07 BE
These are IEMs that are known to be pretty darn good for their price tags, whereas if you frequent any audiophile forums / communities, you'll often see the IE80 / IE800 are being referred to as "outclassed". This is not in any disrespect to Sennheiser because their headphones are top-notch and among the best values out there -- just not their IEMS.
If you like bass, the IT03, A3H Pro, Oriveti Basic, TFZ Series 5, and these will be a good choice.
If you want something 'neutral' or balanced, try out the IM02, Oriveti Primacy, and GR07 BE.
The Pinnacle P1 is not really neutral but it's balanced, works nicely for female vocals and isn't too heavy on the bass.
