JlotarskI'd sure like to know the answer to this one (is it full grain?).
"Latigo leather" just refers to the tanning process (look it up). Saying in the description that latigo leather " is known for its soft texture and high tensile strength" is kind of BS. The strength of the leather will be directly proportional to the cut and thickness/weight. We do not have this information.
On American Leather Direct's website, they list their latigo-tanned leathers in weights from 6-14oz. and make no mention of the cut or grading. Similarly, we're not given information on the grade or cut. Seems like this should be pretty easy information to obtain.
Soooo..... can we please get an update here?
Zachs@Jlotarsk I just got off the phone with Orion and they clarified that all Orion belts are 12-14 oz full grain leather. They also use the best grade and use the side cut of the calf, which is one of the better cuts because it has fewer scars and blemishes.
