The world’s first self-winding mechanical watch with an altimeter, the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter is large (47mm) and full of function. Aesthetically, the watch is aviation style all the way, from its radially knurled bezel to its large Arabic numerals to its seatbelt buckle–style folding clasp. Capable of tracking up to 15,000 feet (you’ll want to calibrate it regularly), it actually allows air in through the crown at 4 o’clock, then gauges the pressure and gives a reading of the altitude. For visibility, the watch has thick hands and a seconds hand that’s tipped in red. To power it? An Oris 733 26-jewel movement with a 38-hour power reserve. To protect it? A stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, and 100 meters of water resistance. It’s all built on a foundation of Swiss watchmaking tradition that’s been going strong for more than a century.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice from seven different options. Quantities of each are limited and pricing will vary depending on your selection. See checkout options for more details.
Oris has been producing watches since 1904, and it's gained popularity for building value-driven timepieces with an emphasis on quality. Still independently owned, the company only makes mechanical watches spanning a variety of aesthetics and functions. To many collectors and enthusiasts, Oris' trademark red winding rotor has become a statement of quality that won't break the bank.
