For the brown leather strap MD's price is $1,999--if that's the configuration you like (or if you're just a cheapskate looking for the lowest possible price), it's a lot cheaper here:

https://www.certifiedwatchstore.com/oris-chronoris-automatic-movement-black-dial-men-s-watch-67377394084lsbrn.html?fee=9&fep=15542 as @texasrover2 pointed out. Anyone looking for more information on the watch can find LOTS of it on Google. Here's a good overview from Worn and Wound: https://wornandwound.com/introducing-oris-chronoris-williams-40th-anniversary-limited-edition/

My personal opinion of the watch is that while it's obviously a quality piece, it's nothing to get excited about UNLESS you happen to be both a Williams Racing fan and an Oris fan. As with other team-up/collaboration watches (Oris and Audi or Hamilton and Red Bull, for example) those folks in the both category tend to snap those watches up on initial release at full-price. The remnants (like this one) tend to gather dust on shelves, requiring heavy discounts to move them out. All of which brings us here, looking at a watch that may be brand-appealing, but isn't particularly affiliation-appealing (as in: I like Hamilton, but don't like Red Bull). Wisely in this case Oris opted not to plaster Williams Racing or F-1 all over the damn dial--so this watch still has plenty of afterlife left. Final verdict: A) I have no interest in Williams Racing, and B) find the watch a little too generic-70s looking (there are LOTS more interesting 70s style watches out there to resurrect/emulate than this one). Total dollars saved: $2099 + tax!!!

RayFAgreed wholeheartedly, Hamilton and Longines have a few offering in this "modern vintage" segment that are really nice. Hamilton's Pan Europe Auto Chrono is stunning in person (online pictures do not do it justice). I think it can be had at this price, give or take a little.

Bobraz That's a beauty for sure! UPDATE: Found out it comes in black too, and in this shot I see the case style is very similar to Seiko's Turtle and Willard designs... and it's 45mm wide ;- )

BobrazThanks for the photo, best looking Hamilton IMO that I've seen. The black and white version on Hamiltons site is asking just $1945 usd; best on ebay asking around $1600 usd. and with 60 hour power supply from a modified 7750 a good movement. Maybe the drop gods could acquire this model; although it does seem to be popular as the prices suggest, but for less than $2k, from Hamilton direct I think if one was to consider a full retail, with direct factory warranty that's not outlandish, and no I haven't won lotto! but for a change I can see the value.

JAoneThis is not bad either! Actually this the sexiest Hamilton in a long time! If it had no date, I'd buy it.

Bobrazyep nice watch - but should have a graduated dive style bezel or a tachymeter scale, in my opinion, but not both. As discussed in another forum, might be handy if you go for a dive, pop to the surface and while away some time waiting for your charter by timing speedboats zipping around the coast.

It's a racing themed watch, I'm not sure why they put a dive style bezel. You can't dive with this. Maybe, it's to measure a longer event's time (under 60 minutes, perhaps a series of laps) while using the chronograph for smaller measures (one lap)?

Isn't that an intra matic?? I think they are a bit more expensive and currently have 40mm only ,which is trendy a little small for me ,but yes a good looker. But still not mega bucks direct from Hamilton. I have always admired this early Panda look dials, it was probably my inspiration to buy my bronze jack mason racing, but a heck of a lot cheaper at $139 usd!! Solid bronze case and a "meca quartz" fro Seiko !!

JAoneThe hammy you linked to above is the best looking one, I reckon. I will probably never get a chronograph but the two dial ones look great.

Which one the intra matic or pan europ? Although quite a large watch the Pan europ I think looks best, but the Intra matic has a timeless look although a little small for me. Probably irrelevant at this time as I am many dollars away at present!

RayFMe I'm good at 40mm, especially for a modern vintage watch. My only problem is that watches with Valjoux movements are 'thicc' (that's how the cool kids say it) so they usually turn out to be door frame bangers. Just curious, for you, how big is too big? 🤔

Bobraz Well I would say 42mm is a good size for the kind of watches I typically gravitate towards (tool and diver watches), but would allow a little up or down depending on style and application. 42mm probably isn’t ideal for a slim dress watch, and 44mm might be a better size for a Diving Chronograph. For the most part, I’m in the Size Doesn’t Matter camp. No doubt I’d likely feel differently about the subject if I had smaller wrists ;- )

RayFYes, hadn't seen that before - it's a looker. What people in the 60s thought the future would look like... What we really have though is the pastel puck of the apple watch. I feel that something has gone astray.

Agreed. And it's not lost on me that between the Jetsons and Bladerunner, we were all supposed to running around in flying cars by now too. If science and civilization don't hurry up and get their act together, the future is just going to be a reissue of the past!
