For a rectangular watch, this Oris timepiece has a remarkable amount of function. To start, it has three different subdials: one for the day, one for the date, and one 24-hour subdial. Up top at 12 o’clock is where it really shines—or, where the big white rock in the sky does. As the moon orbits around the Earth, the moonphase complication will show exactly where it is in its 28.5-day cycle, giving you a constant reminder of our place on Earth. Betwixt all the complications are pleasing guilloché grooves that radiate diagonally out from the center. The resulting look is almost heavenly with the silvery tones of the dial. Powered by an Oris 582 movement of 25 jewels, the watch has a 38-hour power reserve. To prevent any dings you might put on it, there’s a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal.
