I wish they had a slant bar version. I use a Merkur 37C with Kai blades and can go against the grain anywhere on my face or neck. I am just not sure this will give me that close of a shave.

I bought one the lat time this was around and it shaves very well. However, if I had to do it again I would buy something an adjustable razor instead. There are plenty of razors that shave just as well at a better value.

I spent backer dollars on model T Roxkswol like 85 and it now 2 years later and Daisy Cuter shaved my [moderated] with his teeth so wonder if I can buy now and get badger blade props around my sweetness?

This is more than 3 times the price of Merkur's entry level DE razors, 2 times the price of the Merkur Futur, and about the price of an entry level straight razor. I have all of these, and they are all great. The straight razor gives an especially good shave.
I've read about the machining on this being extra precise and all, but is it really worth that much? Sorry for the skepticism, honestly curious.

Personally, I wish I would have skipped the zinc models. That's not to say that they're bad or poor value. I, personally, find the Orista (and Feather) to feel more substantial, more luxurious. Also, I have a preference for "buying for life". I figure, over the course of the next 5-10 years, the cost difference of the razors will amount to only noise in the cost savings from blades (vs disposables). For some people, taking such a long view isn't practical.

Don't think I've been so excited to shave since I was 12. Hefty and beautiful. I'm not an excellent judge of razors but I can say this is a very smooth shave with and against the grain. No razor burn or irritation even when being more aggressive in tight spots . I do need to relearn how to properly shave in order for this razor to do its best. Previously, I would simply use a disposable and call a quick once over good. Now that I can see what a truly smooth shave is, I can see where I was missing out.
I am very satisfied.
Has anyone tried the stainless vs the stealth coating? I was hesitant to spend the extra in case I didn't enjoy it.
