Very much enticed by this software particularly due to the large choice of room/system IR presets to choose from. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any choice of headphone EQ profiles. Nonetheless, given its implementation as a virtual sound interface this might be an excellent complementary solution to the current home-brewed 7.1 VST-based convolver setup I am running with a limited selection of studio IR and headphone EQ profiles.
Unfortunately, the demo version is not working flawlessly for me. I keep getting intermittent crackling noises (sounding like firework crackers going off in the background). This is not clipping and happens despite lowering of input and output level in OOYH to -20db and -6db, respectively, and even in very in low volume passages of classical music with a high dynamic range that lights up at most the two bottom green bars in the interface's software meter.
I also doubt that this is a CPU utilization issue. While I have just a Core i3-530 dual core processor (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i3+530+%40+2.93GHz) in this system the resulting CPU load averages around 35% (with occasional spikes to at most 55% according to task manager) which is comparable or at best slightly higher than my current home-brewed VST convolver setup that runs without any audible glitches.
I wonder if anybody else is experiencing glitches of this kind?

Hi d111,
Thanks for posting.
Have you tried lowering the output volume of your media player? I doubt that's it, but just to be on the safe side to see if that has any effect.
Other than that, as mentioned before, despite the CPU utilization percentages, sometimes there can be audio problems when the CPU power is not set to 100% as set in the Windows Power control panel. I am not sure why that is, but please check those settings or at least try it.
It's also possible that some other background task can be causing issues even if your CPU utilization is not near 100%.
Do you hear the crackling noise on all presets? Have you tried any other media player apps?
But I other than the above settings. I have not had anyone report such problems.
Let me know here or contact me directly to figure out what could be happening.
Thanks again, Darin
