Really well put together. The velcro is super strong, so is the Gore-tex and bottom strap. On days when the snow is deep and pants aren't enough to keep the snow out.
We experience some tough/harsh winters in northeast Wisconsin. They are also LOOONG winters. Gaiters, along with other clothing/gear, are essential to get outside, otherwise you’ll nuts sitting indoors. The quality and fit of these gaiters work very well for me, whether I’m out for a hike, or slogging through the snow in the yard to get at the bird feeders and compost bin.
Two winters ago, I went back to UK in November for about a month. I would have had adequate clothing if not for the part between my shoes and my overcoat. These serve the exact purpose very well. I will never go to such a weather condition without these now.
I have used many gaiters by many brands. These are the only ones that have lasted more than a few hikes. Most get caught on a stick and get shredded, these hold up really well. The only thing I would change is the exterior has a course cloth that rasps when walking through brush. This is too loud when hunting. I sewed wool over the outside of one pair to quiet this.
Years ago I found a pair of OR gaiters in the trash...
They had a broken top (front calf) buckle, so OR sent me a replacement buckle for free and they were like new with a little sewing. However, they were never quite big enough to fit over my plastic double boots. The XL size I just received will do the trick. I expect they will last a lifetime, as will the old pair I still love and use with my lighter boots. They are simply bombproof and they are, after all, guaranteed for life.
