Probably one of the better Alpha layers out there and at a really good price. There are a few vendors out there a bit lower, but with limited sizes and colors available.
I'm almost always too warm and sweaty on the way up, but the Deviator keeps the insulation on the chest only, which helps. Assuming you have a pack on your back, you don't need fluff back there anyway. Please excuse the stupid pose. I was goofing around while we shot the photos and it turned out to be the pic that best showed the jacket. So, we used it despite it being embarrassing. Also, sympathy weight. Such is life.... http://engearment.com/gear/outdoor-research-deviator-hoody-review/

I bought one of these a few months ago and have worn it extensively since, mostly as a mid layer for xc/alpine skiing and around town. Mine is size M, same as for an OR Goretex nacket I have; no reason to upsize IMHO - I'm ~5'10" 150lbs. The sleeves are even long enough with the thumb loops, rare for me. Extremely comfy and versatile - highly recommended. :-)

Took receipt last night and generally happy with the fit. Went with the large.

Was looking for this after I read a Gear Patrol feature on it.
Would like some sizing advice on this. Both of my OR jackets, a Goretex Paclite shell and Primaloft jacket are size small and fit fine. The Primaloft is a little baggy and would prefer it to be more fitted. I'm 5'5" and about 150lbs. Athleticish build.
BTW, it looks like the sizing chart is for pants.

ChurchillWShows how well I know my own gear. Just checked my two jackets and they're actually size Medium. I'm going to order the large in this.

Hi, not very knowledgeable about outdoor gear and technology but would this be good for use as "active insulation"?

Do you have any experience of durability. I'm looking to use this for summer treks and have read review that it doesnt do well with backpack straps rubbing against it

indialogueNo experience with this jacket in particular. Check out the Patagonia Nano Air Hybrid for summer treks.
