I got this shell in the last drop they had for it that wasn't too long ago. This shell is quite worth it even at retail. At this price it's a steal. The last drop for it was actually 20 bucks more but I'm not even salty because it's so nice I wouldn't have wanted to wait to use it.
As for the sizing be careful. This is a trim fitted jacket so if you order true to size it will by fitted but not in a constricting way. I have a 38in chest and a 33in waist and it fits perfectly. I got the medium for reference. It lays nicely on the hips and I love the fit. Also there is plenty of room inside for 2-3 layers. I personally love it. It is also one of the coolest shells I have used. Took it out in the 85F wet morning and it felt cooler with the jacket on then with it off. I could rave about it all day to be honest. The zippers are quality, it's packable within one of the pockets, the hood is sweet but you might have issues with big helmets. I forgot to even mention it's waterproofing. Each seem is taped on the inside and I literally ran the arm of the jacket under a faucet on full blast for 10 mins on the same spot. Not even a hint of water started going through. Beyond all this one thing I will mention that some might find as a negative (I surely don't) is that it doesn't have pit zips.

TL DR - The jacket is a steal at 180 bucks. Buy it.

Also if you do have issues with sizing Massdrop won't help you but with this item in particular Outdoor Research has you covered. Shit their customer service alone makes the jacket worth it. Here is the post I made about people who want a different size after getting it from here.
I'm always hesitant to join clothing drops. What is massdrops policy regarding sizing issues? Do they exchange? Edit: Answer is no they won't but Outdoor Research will take these back if you need a sizing or color exchange. Here is the link to the info. Nada Pit Zips ...so in a basic way this jacket SUCKS . I am thinking as much time as I have spent in the back country would qualify me to do the research for Out Door Research since some one seems to be dropping the pit zip necessity needed to sell your jackets no matter how breathable OR thinks the jacket is. ha ha

No I am a person who pays hard and sweats alot no matter how good a jacket is made to breath . Your the Public ass for taking sides with the troll . And I read the reviews . Not a believer.

GVU1You really are ignorant aren't you? Quit trying to say any product without pit zips sucks because you have overactive sweat glands. This shell is one of the coolest shells on the market and I have tried a good many of them. Instead of being ignorant you could have been objective and simply stated that the jacket might not be for people who sweat profusely.

Damn, this looks like everything I want in a shell. It's light enough it makes me question if I need my helium hd. I'll probably keep both since I'm such an OR fanboy...

Did you find the interstellar more useful than the helium HD? or are they pretty interchangeable?
I am on the fence on this one as I don't think I need the extra breath-ability since pit zips on current jacket do an adequate job for hiking.

westcoastWell, I haven’t received the interstellar yet. I just tried it on in a local store and then bought it here 2 days ago. Amazing price! But Im confident it will replace the Helium HD as my go to for wet weather. The material is a lot nicer. It feels much more like a soft shell but from everything I’ve read it almost as “bomb proof” as GoreTex Pro. The other big difference is that the HD is 2.5 layer and the Interstellar is 3 layer. They’re both great but you can definitely feel the quality difference. I’m stoked to get mine in. :D

Yep OR is the one big brand company I don't immediately get a headache when I have to contact with an issue!
The only unfortunate thing about them is their trim fit seems to vary from product to product and can be slightly baggy up to straight jacket tight so read reviews!

westcoastThis one in particular is quite close around the waist if you pull it down so it's like iron straight but it's not supposed to be worn like that. Beyond that the chest area is quite roomy for me in a medium. Could easily fit two layers like an undershirt and dress shirt if using it for urban wear or thermals and stuff for hiking and stuff. I personally don't do any outdoors stuff beyond traveling for day to day activities like work and stuff.
