I can get a month's worth of Fruit of the Looms at Costco. This would be a hard pass except that I am not young any more..............any more.........any more. Didn't the Raven say that?

I currently own two pair of these and they're great. Not too tight, not too loose. Very comfortable in the heat here in Florida. I'm buying these again. I wear the XL because I'm between sizes, so I sized up. No regrets.

AtmakoIf you're a 36 and want the loose fit, go for the XL. I don't think you'll find them too baggy.

vegasPer the first and third links here (https://www.google.com/search?q=Outdoor+Research+Men%27s+Echo+Boxer+Briefs+%22fly%22&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj1oPbltf7cAhViM5oKHUvTDQ0Q5t4CMAB6BAgHEAc&biw=1747&bih=697), yes. It would be nice if the vendor or OR would actually answer some of our questions; I guess they're not really interested in sales.

vertigo220Yes Massdrop is not good on responses. From your link it seems they are cheaper from backcountry.com at the moment.

for those that own both, given the same size, do these fit tighter or looser than Ex-Officio? said another way, are these more boxers or briefs?

lsbellerI'd like to know this as well. Based on the guide, I'm between a M & L, and I wear a medium in the Ex-Officio and they fit well, whereas a medium in Smartwool's is a bit snug.
Edit: Either the sizing guide for these is strange, or my body proportions are more odd than I thought (probably a bit of both). Based on the chart, by waist size I'm halfway between a medium and large, by hips I'm a small, and by inseam XS. While this is the best deal by far that I've been able to find for these, with the singular exception of large oasis/night (blue) ones at campsaver/opticsplanet, I may have to pass if I can't figure out what the right size is. I'm leaning toward medium, but I'd hate to buy some only to have them not fit, as I'm assuming there's no return/replace option.

Wonder how these fit compared to the ex-officio, my current go to workout undies. The price per unit seems to be about on the same level.

Oh, sorry. The fit on the Echo Boxers are a bit more fitted than Ex-Officio, which I prefer. They’re also softer, don’t get caught on your nails or sharp things, more durable, better all around underwear. You won’t be disappointed.

gnarledcouleeThanks. When you say more fitted, I assume you mean less baggy (though I don't find the Ex-Officios to be baggy) or maybe even more snug, but not necessarily tighter. So would you say that the sizes are comparable, i.e. since medium in the Ex-Officio fits me well, I should go with a medium in these, or are they actually tighter, and a medium might be too tight/snug?
