Have to point out the same lens is $669 on Amazon right now (International model, so no warranty, same as this drop), and this is only 20 dollars less than the sale price of this lens during the holidays or sales if you want to buy the US version. Pretty terrible deal. Edit: The seller on Amazon has increased their price. This still isn't a good deal.

Has anyone used this lens on a Leica? Specifically a TL2.

swill2424This is a micro 4/3 mount lens. It won't work for your Leica camera. Despite the Leica name, it's a Panasonic lens that is "certified" by Leica to designate a higher quality lens on the micro 4/3 system.

This is an extremely nice lens... if it is good. Indeed, there seem to be large production tolerances, which render quite some of the lenses blurry or not centered. Discussion fora are full of such reports, and I myself had such an experience. I had to return my first probe, which I bought at a shop. After some discussion and showing them examples of blurry pictures, they accepted. Now, with the second - flawless - lens I am more than happy. I use it on an Olympus camera and decided to buy it over an Olympus 12-40 Pro lens for the larger range.

Do you find the extra focal length worth it over the constant 2.8 of the Olympus? I have a panasonic body and am constantly mulling over the panasonic 12-35 2.8, 12-40 olympus, and this 12-60.

yeahboatsYes, definitely. And if you have a Panasonic body, I would not hesitate. The lens would even be capable of the dual IS interacting with the more recent Panasonic bodies.
