Based on the Baumuster A dial design, this self-winding mechanical watch is a quintessential aviator. Perhaps most notable is that it’s large: 47 is a reference to the case diameter. And while it’s not as large as the original Baumuster A (a 55-millimeter behemoth), its dial is easy to read and features Arabic numerals. Other elements typical of a pilot’s watch include the oversize diamond crown, the Flieger hands, the dotted triangle at 12 o’clock, and the running seconds subdial at 6.
Note: At checkout, choose between models F47-01DBR (100 units available) and F47-02D (30 units available).
One feature you won’t find on most pilot’s watches: a power-reserve subdial at 12 o’clock, with Arabic numerals appearing at 10-hour intervals. Much like the gas gauge on a plane, the dial dips below zero to allow breathing room when you’ve exhausted the 40-hour power reserve. Elsewhere on the dial, a date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, next to the word “Automatic,” with the Panzera name, logo, and model sitting at 9. Atop the dial is a slightly domed mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating, while the display caseback allows you to view the mechanical wheels at work.
