I’m 60 years old and do feel a slight itch. Norma with quality merino wool I’m fine. Not sure why. Love it, but wish it was easier on the skin. I do think age plays into sensitivity as when I was younger i had no issues.

Beautiful neckwarmer. Replaces my old one, which I use all the time. The tags and the brand marker are really rough and annoying in such a soft and wonderful garment, but easy to take off by cutting the seams. Just be careful not to cut into the wool knit, just the seams.

I bought this neckwarmer because I heard that wool works while wet and also that yak wool is just softer. Well it sure is soft and easy to breath through when pulled over the face. Slight discomfort with face stubble as expected. I got my neckwarmer and used it on Sunday. I took it sailing. And as it happens, it was a super windy day and I capsized my boat and ended up in the water. Sure enough, this sucker kept my neck warm even while completely saturated with water.

Okay. So I got the neckwarmer last friday. The other end of the tube started to unravel on the first day. There seems to be some sort of a fault in the knit and the first row is getting loose from different sides. You need some better quality control… Got a refund directly from Massdrop, but I would have rather taken a working neckwarmer. The style, fabric and functionality are otherwise on spot on…
I have both the Beanie and Neck Warmer x2. I've worn down to -6*F, and it keeps my neck warm - in conjunction with being properly dressed for the weather, and I was outside for over 8 hours doing Auto-work. I've been wearing it for about 14 weeks, now, daily. The itchiness, mild for me, is more or less non-existent now after a few washes, and the fabric tightened back up -- it was fairly stretched out from use, but nothing a simple wash didn't take care of. The beanie still sits on my head alright, though the Tag is way too low and annoying. The neck warmer is essential for overlapping over the beanie on my ears in cold weather to keep them warm, and it's nice over my face for short periods. I mainly end up wearing it over my chin, as the fibers seem to get all over my lips/mouth when wearing it for long periods over my face. It has stretched out a bit, but holds well still in conjunction with the beanie. Overall, I like both. Time will tell if they hold up.

Is this the 40 below, or the pilgrim option?

Thanks thanks, also do you know if the beanie has ever been on massdrop?
DaveybarIt was previously and we basically sold out from that! You can still pick one up from one of our retailers (we have 2 in the US and one in Europe), check out website for details.
We are not exactly sure when we will have more in stock.

Nice! Been waiting for a chance to get a neckwarmer/buff since I got a fantastic sweater from your kickstarter. Glad to see a black option.

Estimated ship date is Feb 20. Is that from NZor USA? Trying to figure out if it would arrive by March 8th ultimately before a ski trip.
clewThat will be from the US. We will be sending them from NZ on the 26th of Jan hopefully.

This wound up being a good purchase. I've a wool hat that is 2x thicker than this yak beanie, and yet this one is still noticeably warmer. Well worth it. Really the only complaint is the inner tag is too close to the opening, it should be inside the middle of the hat.
