There is a new and other development. I contacted pebble support and they now tell me that they used UPS for shipping, not USPS. But the product they gave me: UPS Mail Innovations Economy International. Does not give any result in google.
If UPS is indeed used, then chances are that UPS is also doing end delivery in the Netherlands (because they are active here), and that means that checking with PostNL is useless.
The inconsistent information I get from massdrop support is starting to piss me of.
