I don't want to say these are awful yet, but my experience with them hasn't been great at our house with an LGv20, Samsung S7, and Axon 7. We got the 3 pack in the last drop. Maybe it works better on iOS.
1) Finder click to find phone doesn't seem to work unless the App has recently been opened on the phone. So if you plan ahead and know you are about to lose your phone, and remember to open the app, you should be ok.
2) App map showing last finder location again only seems to remember the last location recorded while the app was open. So, when I misplaced my keys on Sunday, the app showed my keys being at the bar which is where I had last opened the app to show my friends how it worked.
3) App click to find the finder really seems to require being right on top of the finder to get it to work. Practically useless.
I have been very the disappoint.
dehemkeI was considering getting in on this drop until I saw a few reviews like yours. So thank you for helping me avoid a huge mistake. The only reason I wanted it was for the "find phone" feature but it seems highly unreliable. Do you (or anyone) know of a good alternative brand? Im specifically looking for something to reliably find my phone
powelscI was looking at this drop specifically because I have the tile which is a very similar product. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks to the tile is it doesn't have a user replaceable battery. This means every time the battery dies, which is about once a year, you have to buy an entirely new tile.
Tile does have some of advantages. One of them is the fact that there are more users using Tile every day. This means they can find your stuff for you. I often get alerts when somebody in the Tile community update the location of say my phone or my dog leash. The app is really stable and works really well. I'm just looking for something with a user replaceable battery so I don't have to keep buying new tiles every year.
The Trakr has not worked well for me, and the app sucks. The Tile is better, but only good for a year, and has to be replaced. How does the PebbleBee stack up?
I kickstarted this, the hole is very small and fits funny on your loop. When I lose my keys it will sometimes find them, yet the other way around, never works.
These are super cool - Also, they integrate with Amazon Echo. It's really handy to just yell "ALEXA, FIND MY KEYS" and they start beeping.
I'd be in if I didn't already have several!
