Is the nib gold or steel? Image shows gold...but most other retailers have steel, I just picked up mine from EP over their Black Friday sale...so sweet

Customer service confirmed the nibs are stainless steel, NOT the (rhodium-plated) gold nibs pictured.

This usually comes with a steel nib, why does the picture show a gold nib? Does the pen come with a gold nib for this drop?

ShumonkeyYes, M205s are postable but the resin that Pelikan uses for them is much more delicate that the striped material used in the good-nibbed oens, M600, etc. So unless you're really careful the resin can scratch when posting the cap. However, posting this pen creates a nice balanced feel in hand. --I currently have this pen in taupe, but have had several of these.

I had a teacher in highschool who gave out so many failing grades, she probably could've gotten her money's worth out of this pen.
