Lovely pen at a great price
This is a fountain pen classic but a few things that you have to be aware of. Pelikan does not have to best QC when it comes to nibs, and whether you have any issues with either tine alignment, or nib size, is your luck of the draw.
I have bought Pelikan pens from brick and mortar stores, and you often have to try a few to get the right nib size (notwithstanding that they are all marked the same). You also need to size up on their nibs. I write with a Western M nib and for Pelikan I usually end up with either EF or F for the same thickness. Needless to say, B nibs are real ink gushers.
Thankfully for me, my Drop worked great out of the box.

This is a really nice pen. It’s large and substantial. It looks classy. It writes very, very smoothly. I bought the medium nib and it seems more like a broad. I’d recommend considering a fine nib for every day writing use. You just can’t go wrong with a Pelikan Souveran 800, it’s just a great writing instrument.
