Well, I have to admit that I would have never expected to see such a high end pen on Massdrop. The market for this kind of fountain pens is a niche inside a niche, but I imagine that some might consider this a very good deal. At this price point it already is, not to mention the second drop level. Some might even join Massdrop just for this. I just wanted to add a small detail. I'm really no expert about such high end pens, but I think the Toledo isn't strictly speaking a "real" Limited Edition pen. When a brand makes a Limited Edition product, it commits itself to never make the same product again, at least not without major variation in its design. The Toledo is "produced in limited quantities" every year, so there's really no guarantee that it will always keep a certain value in the years to come.

MyMothersDaughterToo kind, I just shared some little infos! I have a ton of exams this months, so I really can't be as active as I'd like. If in one of my few moments of relief I can say something useful, well, I'm more than happy to do it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now, just a very small suggestion on my part for everyone: could we please avoid another discussion about pens and prices and plastic and this and that etc.? Honestly, this kind of discussion has been popping up on every community of Massdrop lately. It's becoming a more common cliché than the "this is not a store" discussion on Kickstarter (some of you know what I mean). They always end up becoming a nest of trolls and troll feeders fighting with likes and replies, killing every possibility for members who don't like taking sides to have a constructive discussion about the product involved. So please, just don't waste this comments section too!

AlexGkReally? I mean, really? You want to to stop discussing the materials the product is made of, its relative utility, so that we can have a "constructive" discussion? How can you have a constructive discussion about a product WITHOUT going into those very issues? I agree that "HURR HURR $1,000 for a pen you suck rich people!" isn't constructive, but most of the people on here making fun of the pen have been more nuanced and thoughtful than that. It's like if someone were going to buy a $1,000,000 supercar, and a few other people were pointing out that for $300,000 you could buy a car almost as fast, BETTER looking, and still have $700,000 left over for more hookers and blow.

dropbrianDamn pal you're going waaaay over the top with this! I know I should not feed the trolls, but where did you find the courage to mock AlexGk who was one of the first ones to be serious enough not to take part in this useless battle, and insted gave some real useful informations? Damn why should he (or she) even bother sharing what he (or she) knows anymore? He (or she) still deserves ten times more likes than you do, and considering that he got three times the likes you got with less than half the comments you wrote, I don't think I'm the only one thinking it.

I'm participating in a discussion? And I find it amusing that you'd write that HUGE paragraph to tell me, essentially, that I'm putting too many words and too much effort into the discussion. I'm not a troll, I'm just very opinionated. I guess "troll" is an easy accusation to level against anyone who doesn't agree with you. But I'm so sorry for violating the Sacred Massdrop Poster Honor by poking fun AlexGk's attempt to police other posters.
I'm not causing any kind of a problem, I'm just giving my point of view and responding directly to people who talk to me. Maybe you should get over yourself. But I'll be sure to check the ever-important Likes-O-Meter before I form an opinion next time.
And by the way, I have contributed more to the discussion than *you*, by pointing out that this is basically a special version of a $400 Pelikan model, the Sourveran 800. Seems like relevant, important info to me!

dropbrianThe problem is none of us want to hear your point of view that many times. Once is enough.

SativaDroThen stop engaging with me. You do realize that you were just drawing the whole thing out by talking to me? I mean really, you're literally protesting that I'm taking up too much space by taking up more space. I have a right to reply to people who speak to me directly.

dropbrianI think the yellow is ugly as fuck too, but you sound like a spec nerd that would argue Android over Apple on youtube. Yes there is diminishing return, but if the prestige and the difference the little details make grants more utility than buying another cheap pen, it is a perfectly valid reason for the person with the means to purchase this pen. Also three BMWs are not always better than a Maserati, you don't need three BMWs, as the extra cars create negative utility. I'd say if a person is rich enough, one good pen is better than two shitty pen. Just like how you might value a Pilot VP more than two TWSBI 580s, a person with much more income can value this more than two regular M800s. Technically this pen has the exactly the same "specs" as a regular M800: 18k gold nibs and a piston filling system, but the little details can make the huge difference that you do not appreciate or care.

sino[EDIT: more arguing, text cut, not worth it]
The original poster, CursiveRules, is a pretty big jerk, actually, as my comment made a lot more sense before he edited out the part of the comment I was responding to.
