The PERIAPT brand was started by a team of IT specialists who wanted a better replacement headphone cable for music enjoyment during long days on the job. After finding that most cables were either too expensive or inexpensive but poorly built, they set out to make their own affordable, high-quality solutions Read More
A few folks suggest to buy from Periapt Cables directly. So I ordered two cables worth $115.30 on April 2. It's been 4 months and I am still waiting for the cables to be delivered. Of course, I reached out to Periapt Cables' customer care several times. The last I heard from them was on July 16 where I was assured that they would escalate the issue and open an inquiry. I sent them an email today and keeping my fingers crossed for I haven't heard from them in a month.
I understand that Periapt might be dealing with a lot of things but a simple response would go a long way. Especially to an International Customer because $115.30 means a lot of money after currency conversion. At this point, I am clueless whether to expect a refund since Periapt is incommunicado and there is no other way to escalate this issue. So it's better to buy from Drop as their customer care provides you a resolution or refund in lesser time.
TL;DR — you should buy from US vendors directly ONLY if you are in the same country. Otherwise you will be stuck in a limbo, like I am right now.
shadyincDid periapt ever get back to you or send you your order of cables?
ive been emailing them for about 18 months with an issue (it’s now January 2022)…at first I (and my order) wasn’t in their system, then I emailed them my receipt and PayPal transaction receipt, and now they have “ghosted” me with no more email replies. There is no phone number for this or their “IT” business listed.
I realize they may have other issues and this isn’t their main priority, but a simple email reply would be nice to see.
Billy-BobbyThey did get back after several emails. They said that the order was returned to them. But they refunded an amount except the shipping fee (which was a significant amount ~$40).
I genuinely don’t know why they even have this as a drop, you literally save like $5 in exchange for the shipping date of October, as compared to the 2 weeks if you order directly from them...
Just copped one for my Fostex Mahogany's. They are expensive cables because of the terminal wherever you get them: $99 on Periapt site. Got them for $82. Side note, I feel the Fostex Mahogany wont match with any other color but black.
I've had Periapt cables before. Certainly of high quality but the microphonics bothered me. I'd always get this rubbing sound through the cable when it would rub against my shirt or the cables above the Y-split would rub against each other. Also that piece at the Y-split has a flat top which would often catch underneath the desk and pull on the headphones. Addressing those issues could make a big improvement.
