During my years of watch collecting, I have had the pleasure of owning two Perrelet Turbine watches...A diver(47mm) and a 48mm (XL). As I often say about these novelty type watches, they are not for everyone. Even at this good pricepoint, some may feel that it;s just too much to spend on a "gimmicky" watch. That may be true, but let me tell you this is a finely made timepiece. The fit and finish is very nicely executed, the movement is of substance and keeps very accurate time, and the watch is just plain fun! The dial is always in motion on your wrist and does draw attention from onlookers. If you aren't into drawing attention to your wrist, then this may not be the watch for you. (BTW, I never found that the rotating turbine dial made it difficult to read the time; no worries.) Some of the Turbines have a rubber strap that needs to be cut, while others have tang buckles. Whenever given the choice, I would always opt for the buckle. Having said all that I've said, the specs give the measurement of the case as 48mm, an XL. These sit very nicely on the wrist (mine a 71/2" at the time), but it is obviously a large piece...Another reason this watch is not for everyone. I still like these very much!

larrygI have also owned the diver. In addition I've owned the XL and 44mm. I have always told my watch collecting friends that there is true quality beneath the novelty. If you enjoy the fun nature of the turbine, you will love the fit, finish and overall high end quality of this timepiece.
