Product Description
Developed over more than 30 years by a chemist at Pilot, this revolutionary formula was first used to create chameleonic children’s toys before being adapted to disappearing gel ink. Unlike other "erasable" inks, which don't erase completely and leave behind bits of eraser as they wear down, the FriXion's thermo-sensitive formula erases with heat caused by friction Read More

Frixxion is not supposed to be used on fabric...per the manufacturer.

Yes you are right. Never use them on batik fabric either due to the double dying process. They leave a permanent white line when ironed off. Also on a side note if it gets really cold the lines reappear. But once washed it will not do this. The key is to always test.

LyndI use the Frixions on fabric all the time. Hasn't done any harm and it disappears with the touch of an iron!

Has anyone else encountered strange thing - like not even one of the pens is writing as it supposed to, but leaves only semi-transparent trail? Took me almost 3 months to try these and to my surprise - not even one pen, including the metal one - is actually usable for writing... Never had something like that happen to me.

The most irrelevant answer I have seen in a long while. If you have nothing relevant to add - maybe you shouldn't add anything?

MIke75Pens were exposed to heat. Freeze them for a couple of hours they will write again. Freezer not the refridgerator.

Well, I just did the math if ordering separately on Amazon (at the time of this post). - Pack of 7 - 7mm pens - $8.01 - Pack of 5 - 5mm pens - $11.79 - 3 pack of 3 highlighters (total of 9) - $11.99 (so $4usd per 3 highlighters)
The total is $23.8 + TAX...but you don't have to wait until end of May to receive them. What I agree would be a good deal is on the LX Pen, on Massdrop is an additional $22 while on Amazon is sold at $35) but you need to buy the whole package to get the $22 price.
Considering the $3.75 of shipping, it totals to $26.74 where on Amazon would be $25.76 with TAX included (in TX). Not sure if it's a good deal. Been wanting to join but unless I save another $5usd or so I cannot commit. Just my 2 cents!

You can use an iron to "erase" the ink as well. These are popular for fabric marking.

campweaselYou should probably be aware that the ink will reappear in very cold temperatures before you commit to using these on fabric...

saritoninYes, I do realize that and should have stated it, thank you.

I would like to see a drop for the REFILLS. These are very hard to get locally, even at office stores. My hubby uses these at work for engineering and brings home the empties (b/c their office doesn't buy the refills) so I have a big stash of cases but no ink to refill them with.
Once everyone has the refillable pens, they are going to want the refills. ;-)

JulieCCinCOThanks for the great ideas @warriorscot and @JulieCCinCO, we can look into those refills and the metal body as options on the next drop.
To make a drop for just the refills on their own, I think that members would need to buy a LOT at one time, but I can look into how the mechanics of a drop like that would work.

JonasHeinemanThat would be super if you could find out. The only place I can find them is on Amazon as they are not sold in local office supply stores. I hate throwing away all these pen "bodies".

These pens are the best. I have been using them for a couple of years and the ALWAYS iron out. If anyone has heard the warning, the only time the ink may come back is if you freeze the fabric. I don't do alot of freezing the fabric, don't know anyone who does. Great deal.

I was going to buy it as a Christmas gift but now I want one for myself too. Drat you Massdrop, for making me spend money! I use these pens every day, though. [Edit: Ok I bought two. ]

Does anybody know whether these can ALL be used with the Rocketbook notebooks - or is that only certain products/versions of the FriXion line?

The photo shown currently has regular pens, highlighters, and capped gel pens. It DOES NOT list the blue refillable pen in between the gel and highlighters. Is this included in the bundle and what is it's description? I have not seen that type of frixion. I love this brand and use all their different type of erasable pens.

Never used the FriXion pens for marking quilt patterns, but I have seen plenty of discussion on Quilting forum. People often regret using them because the markings reappear when the quilt gets cold.

FancymomYou will love them for quilting. The marks disappear with the touch of an iron and it has to get pretty darn cold for the mark to reappear...like freezer cold. Most of the marks are on the back of the fabric for sewing or trimming.

MurnaPlenty of other good options. Won't use the Frixion pens.
