Product Description
Known for its durable brass barrel and stainless steel nib that outperforms pens that retail at much higher prices, Pilot’s Metropolitan is the gold standard for fountain pens in its class. Compatible with both cartridges and converters, the Pilot Metropolitan offers a step up from disposable fountain pens that can’t be filled with bottled ink and won’t hold up to continued everyday use Read More
This was my first real fountain pen, and still loving it. If you're stumbled upon this page somehow, this is the best entry level pen I can say. Get it!
Looking to try fountain pens for the first time? Want a daily carry that won't break the bank (or break your heart if you lose it)? Get the Pilot Metropolitan.
The EF nibs are very smooth and will write on crappy paper without much feathering or bleeding.
The B nibs lay down a good amount of ink and allow for a bit of sheen and ink character to show through.
Only downside is a slightly lower ink capacity compared to other pens in the same class.
Solid construction, great nib, looks good, lots of color choices.
Stop shopping around for a starter pen and just get these already.
I am sorry for those who complain they only received one. I got two.
And these are nice fountain pens.
This one, compared to my previous cheaper fountain pens (otho giza and jinhao x750), is amazingly smooth and more precise in its strokes.
I am glad I got two, because one of them seems to leak a bit of ink. Every time I open it, there's a drop on the side or the nib.
As numerous reviews on the internet will tell you the Pilot Metropolitan writes very well for the price you pay. The build quality of the cap and barrel is top notch, but grip section can be improved on in terms of build quality. But then the price will reflect the additional workmanship and materials. So if you keep in mind how much you paid for this pen then it is an awesome pen.
As for massdrop they give two for the price of one, whats not not like
