This model does come with the CON-20 aerometric converter so you won't have to rely solely on replacement cartridges. The CON-50 piston converter is a step up in usability and it's a sensible upgrade but I understand that at this price it won't be included. Amazon has them for $5-9.

red_shift_ltdCorrection: the metropolitans do NOT come with the CON-20 converter. The converter included functions just like the con-20 does (i.e. they are both squeeze converters), but they are not the same.
I will let Brian Goulet explain the difference, once again.
