MarshallmallowlolProbably easier to find a local supplier, or get it from Amazon. $5 for a CON50 isn't much of a deal. For example, GouletPens has them for $5.50. Albeit, I wouldn't buy just the converter, and I'd probably add it to the cart if I was buying more things.
ZALHERARight, I like buying from Goulet Pens, just don't like having to pay for shipping when only buying 2 small converters, or having to buy more thinks to justify the shipping cost. I also like all of my supplies to arrive at the same time.

ZALHERAHi folks,
Thought I'd do my "usual" commentary about these pens, the Drop, the converters, the nib options, etc, etc, and so forth.
One of the things about my posts ... they're long. I try to write something interesting, entertaining or new each time I add to the discussion, but sometimes I'm just being redundant, repeating myself and saying the same thing all over again.
[UPDATE/EDIT ON 7/25: This post was too tangential even for me. Although still long, I've cut it significantly but kept the originally intended content. Hopefully, this will make for an easier read.]
Also, in the interest of avoiding too much eye-rolling, I'm making two posts. In both, I attempt to address some common questions and concerns from the community. While I'm not affiliated with Massdrop, I've participated in this drop twice and am spend entirely too much time reading the "backpages" from other drops.
Skip to the second post for my suggestions about how to find the most useful recent posts.
I agree with @ZALHERA about the converters. There are other places to get converters. In fact, if you're in a hurry, there are other places to get much of the stuff you see on Massdrop. If you're on a shoe-string budget, Massdrop offers some great opportunities otherwise not available. If you have the resources or want your stuff quickly, there are plenty of other retailers. I like Goulet Pens as well, but there are others.
In addition to making readily available "specialty" items (like the Metropolitan) available at a great price, Massdrop does some very specific things well. It's also an excellent online place to get hard-to-find stuff. For example .... um ... Bungbox ink. Wow.
We are also seeing more and more Drops that are exclusive or unique to Massdrop members in some way: a specially designed pen, more options, etc. This is a good trend (although not necessarily for one's wallet).
Occasionally, you will see hard-to-find or unique products at a great price.
For this drop, they're offering medium or fine nibbed versions of almost all of the different Metropolitan styles, although with some limited availability.
As I've said in earlier posts, I mark the "estimated ship date" on my calendar and check on the progress of the Drop near that date. Beyond that, I try to keep myself otherwise occupied.
As usual, I hope this helps anyone considering joining.
Cheers.
Fine print: periodically edited - significant edits specially noted, affiliations - if any - are clearly noted (in this case, none), opinions are my own (obviously). I own and regularly use these pens. 4 of mine were purchased from Massdrop.

GonzoTGreatI cancelled my order because of the Vanishing Point drop, and I need funds for it. That being said, after reconsidering the cost from Goulet, I think I'll go to them when I need to scratch that Metropolitan itch again.
