The black matte version can be found for a dollar less at *m*z*n but the carbonesque is a great deal at the drop price, IMHO. The feel of an epic fountain pen, as old as the tech in it is, cannot be denied. Similar to the feedback you feel in the wheel in an older BMW, either you get it or you don't. This particular Namiki pen is one of their best. Plus it's just cool that it has a retractable tip that writes upside-down compared to conventional utensils. Fantastic! I'm in!
Just between you and me, carbonesque is fun to say. KKAAARRRBBOOOONNNESSSKK. I know I'm a nerd haha. Happy dropping!

DrumbDummerIf it makes anyone feel better, it looks like the slightly cheaper matte black vanishing points at Amazon have the rhodium finish on the nib, not the black finish. The difference is worth it to me.
