Anyone use the 10 for HT? Any thoughts? 30 hz doesnt seem to be low enough... I'm concerned.

zep483You're right. Human hearing goes down to 20hz and ht (and music) often goes below 20. I would never get a sub that couldn't go to 20. I don't see the point and I'm surprised Jones puts his name on one that doesn't go down to the industry standard. Misses the entire point of having a sub. This drop is disappointing for many reasons. The 8" is worthless and shouldn't even be made - 100w peak? You'd need that on full blast just to hear it. I'm a fan of Jones (have his ELAC amp) and this makes no sense.

OsideTThe ported factor on the 8 actually is very helpful. Its not the tightest bass in the world but it definitely does the job for most music. Only disappointed on a few tracks here or there, but I have one in a medium size room and it is very surprising. Having said that, I would only use it for music or TV only environment. I would never use it for HT. It also has pretty good musicality, the 10 doesn't seem as musical for some odd reason. I only have my 8 turned up to about 3/8ths in a two channel set up, and it does a good job... would I rather have a rythmik... sure, but for about 100 bucks, I don't know if there is a lot that can compete with it- even some of the budget 10/12's don't sound as good. imho. I think that's why Jones puts his name on it, because for what it is, its pretty good... but I think its marketed in a silly way (for HT and such).
